Kovai Kutralam is a water falls at Siruvani, 37 km. from Coimbatore is scenically enchanting. Since it is amid thick forest, visitors are not allowed to enter after 5 pm. Siruvani is the source of drinking water supply to Coimbatore.
Siruvani Waterfalls And Dam:The waterfalls and the dam are located at a distance of 37Km West of the city. The water of Siruvani is known for its taste. The panoramic view of the dam and the falls are of enchanting beauty.
Kovai Kuttralam is a lovely place to visit in the season, between June - November. The place is within the reserve forest region, you need to walk 4 kms to reach the falls. The force of water depends on the monsoon rains.The forest adjacent to this falls are full of wild animals such as Elephants, Leopards, Panthers. The forest officials vacate the place of visitors before 5:00 PM. There are incidents of people trampled by Elephants in this region.Also the Water falls are very dangerous and adventurous in the upper region. It is mostly safe in the down, where cement blocks are constructed for safety.
