This is to alert you of a new scam that hit Internet this week. This comes in the form of an email and claims to be from Central Board of Direct Taxes. Even the email address is tax.refund@incometaxindia.gov.in. I don't know how they manage to get an email address branded as income tax India?


I am adding below the mail from them.. Be careful. dont get cheated.

	My Account Has Not Been Credited In case credit is not effected in the taxpayer account through ECS but the refund advice has been received by the taxpayer AND the status shown is “paid”- in that case, the tax payer should contact his bank or the refund banker SBI. Please be aware of a new financial scam that hit the internet recently. You will receive an email saying that it is from your bank and you need to fill in some account details so as to continue using the account.

But the risk is that we may give all the bank details including e-banking password and username. This will enable these people to transfer funds from our account to their account or even make some online purchases.

Guys, don't get cheated.

Here is a sample mail, which I got saying that it is from Punjab National Bank. But if you see the link to SOLVE THE PROBLEM it is being taken to http://icicbonk.com/do/index.php.. What is this ICICI BONK?
